Version 1.00 changelog: it's done!
(That's a joke. I have had a vague idea bouncing around in my head for a while now, concerning a machine gun, tracer fire, the Unity animator, navmeshes, and suppressive fire. Yes, we are in fact ignoring the 75 million unfinished projects in my Unity Hub.)
Version 1.0! It's actually done! All the goals I set in the first devlog have been achieved, plus a little extra. This doesn't happen a lot, and I'm quite proud of it all. Many many many thanks to the wonderful people whose feedback and enthusiasm improved this little project and helped motivate me towards the finish line. You know who you are, and I love you!
Changes in the new version include cutesy happy animations when the mouse enters the screen, UI sounds, being able to see what and when the next upcoming alert is, and the ability to change the Goober's notification sound to several alternative options. Except for a custom cursor (which after actually using my brain about it doesn't fit the project considering it's, you know, a desktop goober), every 1.0 feature I set out has been implemented.
So is there anything next for the Goober? Well, maybe? There are a bunch of things I'd love to add. Nicer looking UI and a bit more responsiveness to the user would be neat, for example. Some easter eggs when you're using certain programs perhaps. But for now, I think I'll go work on something else, and maybe come back to the little robot later.
Love you all, thank you all for reading!
Changelog
- Added 4 animations for when the mouse enters the screen.
- Added the option to change the notification sound.
- Added UI sound
- Added UI for seeing what and when the upcoming reminder is
- Fixed a small issue where UI elements were off in the Build (Unity's fault)
Known Bugs
- When putting a computer to sleep mode, the Goober will play notifications on wake-up, instead of behaving like it does on an actual startup.
(If you have set the Goober to launch on startup, don't forget to link to the new version. You don't wanna miss out on the adorable backflips, do you?)
