Yep. I made an animated goober in Unity instead :D

This is the Minimal Viable Product for the desktop goober! Not only did I make this to preserve my phone battery/prevent having to unlock the darn thing every 30 minutes, I also saw a great opportunity to finally go experiment with the Unity animator a bit! Additionally I figured out how to find the name of the currently focused executable, so I might have fun with that in the future.

Current features

• Lil' goober with an idle animation in a windowed screen for your desktop
• Add and remove custom timers and alarms, with or without sound notifications
• Volume slider, of course

Known Bugs

• I'm not sure if it's in the Build version, or even still a thing at all, but there used to be a really weird bug that crashed the app when adding an alarm when the current minute is zero (so for example, adding an alarm when the current time is 14:00). I never intentionally fixed it so it's probably still there.

Features needed for version 1.0

• Separate animations/interactions/minigames for the different types of alarms
• Little animations/reactions as you go into and out of the goober's window
• UI audio
• Cursor and game icon
• Implement feedback

And then

• Different idle animations, possibly based on your currently active window
• Nicer UI
• More interactions with the Goober
• A transparent background so it really lives on your desktop (I looked into this, it's surprisingly complicated oop)
• Some better way to see when an upcoming timer is about to go off
• Implement feedback
• ???
